Sun, 2014/04/06 - 5:53am
ThumbnailUltimate Edition Blue Fantastic Cursor 1.06
(X11 Mouse Theme)
To all the fans of this subject, tell them that I have re-split all the serie, because:
  • 1. The KDE community has asked me for because, KDE has the ability to browse and download different artwork from the OpenDesktop.org website, for add new artwork to our computers, using the Get Hot New Stuff standard, which KDE supports in its System Settings preference area; In the future, all distros will have a similiar settings tool.
    2. With multi sized versions there are no problems, but i have seen that in my Dropbox links to artworks, they not work when I select them in New Stuff Area.
    3. On the packs as they are various split theme sizes in a compressed file, here are problems to install them with the kde new stuff area.
    4. When I install a mouse theme, and I want to install another which is on the same page, I have to uninstall the previous one and then install the new theme.
    5. I love how KDE makes new artwork available right from the desktop. I browse through those other websites anyway, but for installing new artwork quickly and efficiently, without worrying about expanding an archive and finding where it goes on the system, this is better by far. It's fast, easy to browse, and puts everything right at your fingertips. Other operating systems should be so lucky.

  • UEblue is a modification of Ultimate Edition Mouse Theme, and are fully animated . If you want see the original, you can go to http://www.themelinux.com/ultimate-edition-themes/.

    The modification consist in:
  • a. I built them with multisized property: 32, 40, 48 and 56 pixels.
    b. I added two theme's colors: Orange, and Green.
    c. Symlinks has much more than the original, so they work very fine under the desktop environments: KDE, Gnome 2/3.x, Cinnamon 2.0 , Xfce, Unity and Steam.
    d. I added them new cursors: dnd-copy, dnd-link, dnd-move and dnd-none. I think it is better to have different cursor shapes when copying or moving an item.
    e. I fixed the xterm cursor because the original is so transparent. Now it looks better.
    f. I built UE-all-in-one mouse theme +Multisized. +Multisized is my concept for cursor themes with color variations on pointers or backgrounds, and is accomplished by defining the colors that we will use in our cursor theme and set the initial size of the cursor, increasing one pixel between each of the colors. This is my original idea.
UE-all-in-one has sizes in pixels of: 30 blue, 31 gold, 32 green, 33 orange 34, red and 35 Silver. For choose color you must change the cursor size.

  • I have tested them under Cinnamon 2.0 with Muffin, KDE 4.10.5 with Kwin, Xfce, also Gnome 2/3.x and it works great.
I decided to upload them, and after will go improving them. I would like change a few things so you can expect updates. If you find any bugs, please let me know in comments section.

If you don't know how to install a mouse theme with multi sized property, like this one, go to http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=164435, there you can see all instruccions for KDE, Cinnamon, and Xfce. You can use the Cinnamon instructions for Pantheon.

I hope you like it, thanks.

    Greetings, MarkoF.

    Thumbnail+Alkano all in one 1.01
    (X11 Mouse Theme)
I've been thinking about how to make a multicolored cursor theme. It came to my mind to use the concept of Multi sized. +Alkano is a +Multisized X11 Mouse Theme; +Multisized is my concept for cursor themes with color variations on pointers and/or backgrounds, and is accomplished by defining the colors that we will use in our cursor theme and set the initial size of the cursor, increasing one pixel between each of the colors. This is my original idea.

+Alkano-all-in-one is one of my Alkano serie. Its a X11 mouse theme multisized to 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 pixels, fully built with Inkscape. Alkano's full serie: Black, Accent Blue Base, Accent Green Base, Orange Base, Accent Red Base and White.

  • +Alkano-all-in-one, has defined six colors for cursors , and the initial cursor size is 30 pixels. Therefore we have cursors of Black 30, Blue 31, Green 32, Orange 33, Red 34 and White 34 pixels.

  • To all the fans of this subject, tell them that I have re-split all the serie, because:

  • I tested it under Pantheon, Cinnamon 2.0 with Muffin, KDE 4.10.5 with Kwin, Xfce 4.10, also Gnome 2/3.x and it works great. I added it symlinks for some cursors required for Steam, and all required for Pantheon, Cinnamon, KDE, Xfce, Gnome, and Unity.

I decided to upload it, and after will go improving it.

    Thanks, and greetings,
